Ms Shirlene, a 27 year old woman, came to the dental clinic with a concern of pain in relation to her lowe right molar for the past 3 weeks. On clinical examination, tooth 46 has a full metal crown and is tender to percussion. On periodontal probing, a deep narrow solitary pocket is noted on the distal of tooth 46. An IOPA of 46 is taken for further assessment.
Explain the diagnosis and the management options to the patient. Address her concern.
